Here are a few checkpoints below when there is a difference between the Supplier or Customer Age Analysis and the Trial Balance
1. Age Analysis balance to TB
Please backdate to when the TB last balanced with the Age Analysis and take it month to month to identify in which month the difference came in by navigating between the Age Analysis and Trial balance on WeconnectU.
Navigation: Community > Finance > Trial Balance (on one tab) & Supplier/ Customer Age Analysis (on another tab)
To backdate the Trial balance and Age Analysis, select the date from and to at the top of the page.
2. Journals Processed
Once you have identified in which month the difference came in, you can navigate to the Supplier or Customer Control account to see if there were any journals directly processed against the Control Account.
Note: Do not process journals directly against the Customer or Supplier Control account as this will not balance your age analysis. |
Navigation: Community > Finance > Trial Balance > Select the Supplier/ Customer Control Account
If there are any journals processed against the Supplier or Customer Control Account, you will have to amend the journals and process those line items directly to either the specific Supplier or customer account.
3. Cashbook Allocations
The last thing you are going to look for is if there are any transactions on the cashbook allocated directly to the Supplier or Customer Control account.
Navigation: Community > Finance > Cashbook
Untick the Hide Allocated Transaction and go through the allocated transaction to see if there were any transactions allocated to the control account.
Once you have identified such transaction, click on the Menu bar and unallocate, then reallocate to the specific supplier or customer account - NOT Supplier or Customer Control Account.
